Looking for the timeless, the unique and the personal
I wear Scottish wool in winter and a seersucker dress in summer. I drink my favorite Korean green tea out of a white china cup and we turned our hallway into a library for more than a thousand books. A beautiful collection of butterflies adorns my studio wall and I keep my printing paraphernalia in an old display cabinet that I picked up for a song and refurbished with a lick of paint and handprinted paper… This is my world and these things make me feel special, grown-up, sophisticated and firmly grounded in a culture of education and substance. Everything I create springs from a desire to live with things that reflect traditional values and are here to last. I really hope to create something of beauty that is independent of fashion or trend and will give joy in ten years time as it does today. That’s why I share my artifacts with you and decided to create a collection of things for people who love museums, travel, culture and quality materials as much as I do.
Quality handmade is an enormous challenge
All the things you see here where created from scratch. Idea, concept, planning, sourcing the best materials and making the actual product are my own responsibility - meaning there is no recipe to follow but a lot of thought, trial and error on my part. I invest all this time and passion to create something special for you, sometimes combining several different techniques, materials and artistic skills in the process of creating one special piece. It keeps me on my toes; I constantly have to improve my skills and learn new ones to make things happen. Every thought, every touch and every brushstroke adds value to the artifact you can buy at the end of this process.
Small editions are the answer
The natural consequence of my elaborate work process is that there is a limited supply of what I can make with my two hands. That means you get something that only very few people have and sometimes you’re the only person in possession of a special artifact. Every item comes with an old-worldly identification tag that states exactly how special it is and how it came into being. You can learn more about my idea of what these Editions are here.
What you really want matters to me
Perhaps you’re looking for a gift for a special occasion or something you’ve always dreamed of but couldn’t find? Or you have a suggestion of something you would love to see in the shop? Please, never hesitate to contact me with any enquiries. Asking is completely free and should I not be able to help, I’ll do my best to refer you to someone who possibly can!
How to get in touch
You might have guessed that I love to send real letters by post? While e-mails are an indispensable part of my life, I offer a bi-annual physical newsletter with a little surprise-sample of my work in return for your address. Need I say that your personal data is protected with my life and NEVER passed on to anyone else? Well, it certainly is and I never will! If you prefer a pdf version by e-mail that’s perfectly fine too!
