Embroidery

This pheasant is the right size to be worn as a brooch but it is rather delicate and the feathers need to be protected from overclothes. I adore birds and wanted to add a dash of colour and texture to an otherwise simple black dress. It turned out to be a statement piece that sparked some great conversations about wildlife, elegance, luxury goods and where I got it… Well, I love embroidery for its meditative, relaxing quality. Since it takes many hours to complete a piece like this I manage to make about 5 or 6 every year. They become available in the shop from time to time and are truly unique.
